Hi Sunil Hari; my 240D has a Reman. engine with only about 30k miles on
it; $1635 in engine alone; TOO bad it is Automatic; like to get somewhere
near $2000 for it

Hi; I saw a new 07 UPS truck; made by Freightliner with a 4 cylinder
turbo. Mercedes Benz diesel in it; looks lika a larger 4 cyl. than my
240D, Ha!Ha!; man said runs good & gets good mileage, though he didn't
say how much mpg

Great idea Rich!; i don't recall the resister value to use from 13-14
volts to voltage of leds; that & the reflective foil might be interesting
to try??

Thanks Craig for the tip, using aluminum foil as reflector, on dash light
wrap around back side of light pipes; how about "chrome" mylar??

Good point Jim; I'll keep an eye out for melting light pipes; if they do
melt i will change bulbs back & replace dash housing with one of my many
others
also the M.B. removal tools work great; some on list said they also work
on removing the clip inside differential that goes on half shafts; WORKS
HINT; under hood see where speedometer cable goes; if it has a "cable
tie" attaching it to back of engine in oil housing area; remove cable
tie(you can put another one on after the job); this will allow the
cluster to come out further to get to items that need to be unplugged or
unscrewed, such as
