For the record, the Frankenheap's wiring harness is 38 years old and still in good shape.  No sign of degradation. You don't live in the salt midwest. They salt here now, it's doing vicious things to the Frankenheap. Wires are still good, though. -- Jim

I would prefer a poorly designed cigarette lighter to poorly designed valve guides and such too, but as I said, if you love a car, you take it as a package for what it is. I love my old 911 and wouldn't part with it for the world, (except for when Wilton is exercising it for me over the winter),
