Were the GM diesels turbocharged?
When I delivered pizza in the 1980s, one of the drivers had a diesel Chevy
Caprice. He never seemed to have issues with it, at least as far as I remember.

That's 120 with a turbo. Without it's more like 80.

Thanks for the welcome Dan!
In my past M1 was exactly what I was using back when buying parts from
Rusty and listening to the wise council of Marshal Booth. Not sure if you
guys know of them but they both really helped me do the care & feeding of
my W123's back in 07.
Found it interesting the PP
This will be my daily driver, as I'll probably unload my 06 CDI w/ 250k
needs ABS & the interior is falling apart, my bride is not excited, she
loves that car. I owned all my W123s in a previous life. She said she
grew up hating the look of the W123 :-) Funny we may have one in the family
now..
I'm in Tennessee, only a few cold days. I drive the truck then.
Thanks for the tip!

I remember that, never actually did the analysis. Do you recall where you
did that? Or the cost?

I haven't heard complaints about the DEF system on the Sprinters like I have on
MB's passenger vehicles. Maybe the Freightliner influence made it better?
VW's DEF system seems pretty solid. At least I've never had an issue with it in
my 2015 Jetta. That reminds me, I have no idea the last time I

The crappy pics don’t do it justice

So true.
We found that out first hand since my dad bought five diesel GMC pickups that
made up half of his businesses’ fleet. They were tough to keep on the road.
The Toronado, however, was awesome. He kept it four years, put almost 100K
miles on it, and never had an issue.

General Motors diesel cars ruined the diesel car market in America for a
very long time. They did not "get it right" and then did not support what
they built and sold.

Why would I want to disable the system?

I love the looks of these, but I’ve always wondered if there was enogh headroom
in the back for adults.
Interesting color, don’t think I’ve seen one in this color before.

I did the delivery valve seals on my '84 190D and IIRC the injection pump
seemed louder after doing the job than before
With the money saved on DEF he bought a pinhole camera to take the photos.

My dad almost bought a ‘79 Eldorado Barritz Diesel but he decided on a’79
Toronado diesel instead. I thought that Eldorado was the living end for an
American made car … as I was driving around my ‘72 220D invoking the ire of all
the staunch UAW men in our little town.

It was - I just looked. ARCO graphite. I remeber using it under the guise of
getting better mileage, but for goodness’ sakes, don’t get it on your hands!
