Remember, Kaleb's job keeps him at car lots all day, every day - he's bound
to be the first one on the scene when a good deal comes along.

That's good news. Every once in a while I hear about one that
slipped. re the water damage - yep, I'm told it sometimes doesn't show
up for months or a year or more before the problem becomes obvious -
Of course if some nitwit will fire a weapon into a large crowd I

Probably goes to PnP and stripped of title so they car not able to go back on
the road. The water damaged cars are really nasty, but end up at PnP and
never offered as rebuildable.

title,
They should go to the PnPs for parts only, which is how the titles will be

With all the water damaged cars from our recent hurricanes, I was
wondering if we will start to see large # os MB's, etc at our PnP's? or
will they go straight to the shredder to prevent people trying to put
them back on the road? (which they always do, even with new cars)
So ya'll be careful
Unlike the pre-computerized cars, the 2000 MY and later MBs nearly all require
the ability to access systems using the Xentry or DAS software and MUX. Sure,
you can fix some things, but get much past 2003 or so and without it you're
pretty much left swinging in the wind.
As for buying a car
Thanks gang!
re Kaleb, - where do you find your cars? I've been looking for a
while and this one is cheap compared to others I looked at. This one is
supposed to be $1000+ below book value and this one is much lower priced
than most diesels I have found. I am to the point I will start to
That sounds way way way too expensive. It's likely going to need oil cooler
seals which is a MAJOR job, which I am going to need to do on the wife's r320
which is the same engine. That engine is OK but is WAY more difficult to work
on than the old 61x or 60x engines. You will certainly need the
That's the model I bought 3 mts ago. Only problem I've had with was the
interface
between key and the BCM. Also had a Ox sender and the harness changed,

was under a MB TSB. Total cost was under 350.

Which engine is to be preferred?
I recall someone on this list saying to avoid 2005 cars.
