That's two votes for the Lysol treatment. It worked for me on several

No filters in either of these models. I don't believe that there were cabin air
filters until the late 90s.

Spray half a can of Lysol into the grille under the w/s with the
engine running and run the defroster. That will kill the odor.

ventillation air intake with the a/c on hi. As soon as the can is empty,
shut everything down and seal the car up for a while. Never tried it
