If it is similar to a regular 123, there is one screw that holds it in.  If it has a plastic "pocket" under the latch, you need a sharp stick, or a small screwdriver, etc to pull that out from its catches.  Then you will see the screw.   Release rod is just held on with a clip.   Easy! Dwight

I ordered 4 reman brake calipers, pads, and new hoses for the 78 300CD and oil and tranny filters from Advance Auto with a 20% coupon ($50 max) and free shipping, had to pay tax though.  Their prices were pretty good, comparable to other sites then the $50 off, so I guess it was a reasonable

Looked at this CD this afternoon, pulled off a wheel to see how brake stuff looked. Disc looked ok but I’m thinking the calipers are pretty much seized. It didn’t move much over the last few years and when I did drive it around everything was grinding. I’ll probably just get a set of remans

I went over to the barn this afternoon to take a look at the CD and take some pics for Kleb.  Battery was sorta flat, glowed but would not crank much, swapped another one in, it fired off right away after sitting for maybe a month.  Idle smoothed out after a minute, I drove it out of the barn
