Not usually. Does this car have both? Cars vary on this point.

The belt is mince meat! The idler pulley (or tensioner pulley, are they the
same?) is very stiff. I bet that’s what caused the belt to disintegrate. Is
this easy to replace?

Yeah an idler or tensioner pulley munching can do that. Worth replacing both in
any case just as a regular maintenance item

Did it actually break or just come off the pulleys?
I ask because I’m wondering if the idler pulley needs to be replaced.

The serpentine belt just broke a mile or so from home. I managed to coast back
home mostly downhill with some short spurts where I drove the car until it
started getting hot.
Anyway, I might tackle it on my own as I did the alternator on that car when I
first got it and obviously the serpentine

My parts wagon has a blue MB Tex interior. It is pretty picked over and

There are a couple of guys here in the MI/Ohio area who paid less than $500 for
their 190Dts. I'm not eager to sell my engine, but if some fool wanted
well basically any of the salvages that are searchable by other salvages
are basically the same ones on car-part.com, so basically the salvage
just uses the same car=part.com search you can use.

I've been checking car-part.com for the last 8 months. Not many out there
and they are too expensive. Mostly in the same price range as the one Rich
looked at. None even close to me as well. I kind of tend to agree with Kaleb
and Tyler.

add just a little bit to that and you can just buy a another car that

they do a compression test etc on it.

I went by the junkyard and the car is still there, quite nice looking
except for the missing wheels and 2 rt doors and the interior now
getting ratty. Anyway, the guy says the price on the engine is $1750,
won't sell just the head. He looks stuff up somewhere and says "this is
the price." He
