For a 6.9, you have to compare the value of your enjoyment for the rare times you drive it vs. the repair cost, recognizing that it is probably a depreciating asset unless you keep up the maintenance (cosmetic and mechanical). In other words, even if it's free this is an expensive ownership

Probably messed up from sitting. I'd allow a good $5000 for parts. Excluding labour. Add the parts to the asking price, and ask if a car in this condition is worth $15,000. If it has been idle for some time, I bet you'll find may more little things that need attention, once it's going again.
