The 944 was a pretty reliable engine if serviced according to the
book.
150,000-200,000 miles between overhauls not a big deal. Belts do need to
be
kept on top of, but that's true of any interference engine. I watched a
couple of friends do the belts, and it's not a really big job.
..All this porsche babble got me to look on CL. what is the deal withthe
944? Is it really garbage? This thing sells for no money around here, while
the
911 and 914 go for big cash...
I could write a thousand words on this but instead will say that the 944 is
definitely not garbage (who in
..And, horrors, uses MB's slushbox..
That was the 928. MB internals, Porsche case. 3-speed like a 116.
