..Isn't the lamp lens customized for lighting patterns in different countries? Maybe 4 was the US pattern?.. It is for right or left hand traffic. Beyond that, the beam patterns with H-4s have been the same for decades. For the one example I know about, the stock headlights in my '95 W202
