Ok so I’m an idiot- there is in fact a coolant hose which goes into the bottom of the expansion tank. So I was finally able to check for bubbles and coolant surge and there was none. I will change the oil and see what happens. Sent from my iPhone > On Apr 29, 2020, at 10:08 AM, MG via

Disconnect that line from the tank and put it into a glass of water and look for bubbles. Keep the connection on the tank closed with your finger and keep the cap on it. MG Dimitri Seretakis via Mercedes wrote: Right but I don’t have a radiator neck, I have a coolant expansion tank with

Yes, if you have a blown head gasket, you will see bubbles... as engine warms up, gasket leak will leak more, which will induce compression gasses into the cooling system... Depending on how bad the gasket or corrosion pinhole problem is, you will see bubbles.. or if it's worse, at high idle or

If you want an engine to last, be sure to get the oil up to operating temperature every time the engine is started, and keep it there for 20 to 30 minutes. This evaporates the moisture in the oil that forms as a result of the combustion process every time the engine is started. On Tue, Apr 28,

Get it up to temperature and have someone rev the throttle while you look in the coolant reservoir for bubbles. What’s a “good amount” of coolant? Not being snarky, just trying to get an idea of how much was coming out and how fast. -D > On Apr 28, 2020, at 5:24 PM, Dimitri Seretakis via
