A nice thing about the semi-stock Becker I put into the 190D is that
it'll come on, key off, just by pushing the ON button again. They're
wired to run off of either

I think Jim was describing a radio that shuts itself off with the key,
but you can turn it back on without the key.

Exactly. You have to act to kill your own battery. Unless the
thing is broken and has a mind of its own, which may describe the
original poster's.

On my 1999 E300Dt, you can turn the radio on with the key out/off but it will
only stay on for 30 mins at a clip.
