Isn't the design principle behind the catalytic converter simply that of an
"afterburner"?
The cylinder combustion only consumes something like 25 % of the available
carbon molecule chain of gasoline and elevates the temperature of the
remaining "soup" to produce those polluting nasty gasses that
I just watched a YouTube video by Scotty Kilmer suggesting adding a gallon of
lacquer thinner to half a tank of gas and some hard driving to clean the
impurities from an inefficient catalytic converter.
I would be concerned about damage to any rubber parts. What is Scotty's
