Well I was going to get to looking at the connections for the Climate
Control this weekend. Though Tuesday morning when I went to go to work (my
monday) the battery was dead. Seems that I had inadvertantly switch on the
rear cabin light and left it on since Saturday.
So after charging the batt

I've been thinking about this and the first thing you may want to check is
to verify if your servo is moving at all. A real good check is to turn your
engine on and run it for a few minutes then shut it off and listen to see if
you can hear the servo returning to the park position. If you
I am looking for some ideas as to what is causing this?

Hmmm, now if it stayed hot I could tell you the most likely cause but
intermittent hot...maybe some bad solder joints on the amp board? Do you see
past signs of overheating around the big resistor?

Dirty connections? Try cleaning all the plugs and sockets with DeOxit
(from Radio Shack?).

I have repaired the climate control (servo) on my car and it has been working
fine for quite some time. A few weeks ago it went to heat only blowing from the
correct vents. So its not in the default mode.
I pulled the amplifier and basically plugged it in and then it started working
correctly.

I'll note once you stick in the revised (double/triple/etc) part the

If it's in a W126 or a W140 in the USA in the 1990s, it's a 350,
even after they started calling them 300SD or S300D.

The 3.5L version of the 603 engine was subject to aquiring bent rods
in normal service. There are several theories as to why this
happened, but the result was that either the engine had to be
completely rebuild with new rods, pistons, liners, and bearings, or a
new long block purchased --
I want you all to know that I have been struggling with the climate on my 300D
for some time now. Have received alot of support from several people here and
think that I have narrowed the last bit down.
It seems that the in car sensor the is by the right front speaker is

Is just the allen bolt. And thread sealer. If you ream out
the Allen it gets a lot harder! I took off the pad (no airbag)
and
ith a piece
of foam pipe insulation from Lowes, Home Depot, etc. It's cheap and pretty
durable.

Scott I want to thank you again for your help. I went to the pick n pull and
got a air jet nozzle. Which is not easy to get out! while there I picked up the
sensor tube hose out of a 1982 300D the sensor in the middle of the dash. I
took out the air nozzle jet out of my car and there was nothing

I did a research on air jet nozzle and one of the articles said there is a
service repair in the manual. 83-122/1. Does any one have access to the
manual and maybe can send it to me? Please.
I am not going to give up on this. I have done so much, and am so close!

Yup. Turn the knob toward blue if it's too warm, toward red if
it's not warm enough. No thermostat action at all.
I actually prefer it to "the car adjusts the temp for me".

The tube is just a way to draw air across the temperature
sensor. There should be a small (0.5 inch)

Exactly. The 124/126 use aspirator motors, others just
tap the suck side of the main blower. (Not sure about

Well I hope that someone can answer this for me. Yes I am still working on it.
It seems that the system only wants to deliver heat. This is through the
correct vents. Now I am thinking that the in car sensor is calling for heat. So
I change the sensor, install it near the speaker and then it onl

Though I thought that light only worked with the key on?

Continuing on the intermintant ability for the system to deliver anything but
heat. I moved the interior temp sensor to be directly in the way of the side
vent. Selected 65 degrees and viola it worked.
I seems that the foam tube that I used wasn't sealed enough and my fat hands
loosened it up!

For good reason I think as it does not exist that I know of. The temperature
regulation is performed by a resistor bridge that consists of an ambient
temp sensor, outside the cabin mounted on the firewall, an inside temp
sensor (likely the one that you replaced, most likely unnecessarily)
I also changed the in car sensor, the a/c amplifier. All with the same results
all heat all the time. Now I have a Temp Control Regulator though I don't see
it in my car? Would just like to change it and see if it makes a difference.
Though I don't see where it is on my car! Can someone help me
