303 Aerospace Protectant. Not sure how often you would need to reapply. On Tue, Aug 9, 2022, at 15:20, Randy Bennell via Mercedes wrote: > There must be some sort of sealant that you could spray on tires to > protect them from UV if you are not able to park indoors. > > Randy > > > On

The special sealant is only available in northern climates and it is only available during the winter months. It's called "snow" and works best when applied with deep cloud cover that limits sunlight to 3 hrs per day. "Snow" protectant is supplemented by use of "salt induced deep corrosion

303 offers a “tire protectant and balm” product that blocks UV, but if it was exposed to the elements I suspect you would have to reapply regularly. -D > On Aug 9, 2022, at 4:20 PM, Randy Bennell via Mercedes > wrote: > > There must be some sort of sealant that you could spray on tires to

When I was at the vast northern estate last week I noticed a bunch of pickup trucks parked with covers over the tires. I expect these are plow trucks that are rarely used in the summer time and the covers protect the tires from the UVs. I'm REALLY pleased we get to park both the tractors

Same with Florida *if* the vehicle is stored outside. In this case, Bob just got this back from Dad, who was in Peoria, IL, if I recall correctly. -D On Aug 9, 2022, at 2:55 PM, G Mann via Mercedes mailto:mercedes@okiebenz.com>> wrote: As an Arizona resident, I have a 5 year hard line on life

As an Arizona resident, I have a 5 year hard line on life of tires. The UV exposure in AZ cooks the sidewall rubber to the point of failure. I have had 4 tires simply explode from sidewall failure while parked. All were past the 5 year life limit. Had the vehicles been loaded, at highway speed,

My F150 owners manual says 7 years, then replace regardless of miles. Our truck spends most of the time in the garage and only has 19,000 miles, so I'm going to go 10 years, then look at them closely. On Tue, Aug 9, 2022 at 1:46 PM dan penoff.com via Mercedes < mercedes@okiebenz.com> wrote: > I

I would agree with Greg. Since Dad was in IL most of the time, I suspect the sidewalls are in good shape. I would inspect them closely for cracking, and if they look good, don’t worry about it at this point. -D On Aug 9, 2022, at 1:46 PM, greg via Mercedes mailto:mercedes@okiebenz.com>>

I would say that climate conditions are a critical factor. Heat and UV are the primary enemies. I would think a truck stored outdoors in AZ would age tires much faster than here in the PNW. I would certainly inspect closely for signs of heat/sunlight damage. Greg > My ‘05 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4
