[MBZ] Drive train alignment

My recently acquired 85 190E 5 speed has been a bit sluggish at take off. I 
put it down to wrong diff ratio but since putting in a better set of engine 
mounts it has been good to drive (I can even get the wheels spinning). Does 
the alignment of the drive train have an impact on performance or am I 
imagining things?
