I recharged the R12 ish in the SDL, gave it a fresh accumulator and was getting
a direct portal to Antarctica for a week or so. Then the system would cycle
from an opening to Mt. Everest for long enough to get really cold, and then a
portal to Hell opens and blows face melting

Yeah I think it is the rpm sensor as I think you? mentioned? I have heard a
bit of squeaking and a kind of metallic rattling on acceleration. I ordered a
new serpentine belt should be here tomorrow. I’ll see if that helps and will
check all the rotating bits too while I’m changing it. When it
W210's are,very rust prone.

210 said to be rust prone.
My 1999 is getting there, but it hasn't had an easy life and it has 260,000

I have not had any charging or glow plug issues with this car. The description
of the problem indicated alternator not charging which I could have swapped the
regulator out in about 5 minutes or the entire alternator in 15-20. I did that
