In Greenland in 1978, my 77 Ford crew cab pickup (V-8) was the base
emergency/disaster reaction command post. Whenever the temp. was -25F
Greenland, a tropical paradise. On my first European trip, our charter flight
stopped at Sondrestrom Fjord to refuel. Everything was Oklahoma-like,
I was Base Civil Engineer at Sondrestrom Fjord in 1978. Beautiful Summers
there, for example, clear and 74F 4 Jul; cool Winters. BTW, it snowed
only twice while I was there - 8 inches 10th of May and 10 inches 8th of
Oct. The Oct. snow was still on the ground when I left 8 Feb 79.
