[MBZ] IP replacement

Hi, alles. I scored a low mileage IP for my 190d turbo, and, having made the mistake of reading more than 1 manual, became confused about whether the timer is to be removed as well or if it can stay in place with the 'basket, or not? Any thoughts? When the car was purchased the current IP was

Pull that injector that was missing and see how it tests. Carbon buildup doesn't always go away when the IP is fixed. Also re-install that pressure valve holder seal, they don't always seal properly the first time, as I've learned from experience. Overtightening is just as bad as

Peter. Thanks for the input. Please re-read my message. Head was completely redone and the torque-loosen-re-torque with correct tools, as per Herr Doktor Professor, was followed. (Twice). My current suspicion is that the #1 delivery valve and/or pump element bits/cam wore unevenly when

Wear or damage would not surprise me. however, I'd try replacing that delivery valve first, along with the holder -- can't be that hard and easier than swapping the pump (although if the sleeve and plunger are damaged, you have no choice there). I'll take a look at the manual in a bit,

Peter. Thanks, tried replacing all those bits, no changes evident. Coming to a stop, the IP drops to idle position, or below, and there is a pronounced miss on #1 for a few seconds, then it improves but not all the way to smooth idle. At about 32F to 40F at startup the engine will sometimes run

Curt, et al. The first four lines appear to the same as OM601. I think that only the #6 on an OM603 is unobtainium, caveat, memory is olde. I have not tried the lines. During testing of this problemo, at idle, loosening the injector to line nuts results in a little dampness at #1 and little

Not many other options, I guess. Sounds as if #1 is late or not injecting, which would give you all those. Do, however, check the condition of the wiring and operation of the idle control, assuming the 602 has the same system as the 603. The solder cracks in the connectors, allowing
