Yes, I was thinking in terms of the long threaded rod that one can buy (
I would call it redi-rod) and wondering if it is possible to get grade 5
or grade 8 equivalent rod.

I'm not sure what high grade redi-rod is, assuming you mean a big honking
piece of grade 8 all-thread rod, I'm not too sure. I've got a couple big
pieces of acme threaded rod, I'll probably use some of that.
No response yet from the seller.

Is there any chance you would be prepared to provide some fairly
specific measurements of the various parts for us poor and frugal sorts
who think we might be able to make one if the need arose?

Can you get the correct new parts here
Yes, but I'll wait for the seller to see if they want to deal with this or
not. I offered to let them ship the missing parts or I can tell them how
much new parts would cost me here.

You can just dispute the transaction with ebay. They always pretty much
side with the buyer.

Arrived today, pieces missing, looks like they wrapped it up in a brown
paper bag and a few layers of packing tape, called it good, and tossed it
in the mail. Package was open at one end, the big bolts and a nut and
maybe some washers have been left somewhere between here and Germany.
