Where is it located in the '87 SDL? Looked for it everywhere, could not
find it. Had a garage in Florida replace it, and they never told me where
it was on the car

Cruise control amp? You got ripped off. Depending on which one you
need they average about $150 from programa.
Was Rusty's new, or repaired? That'd make a big difference.
I used to charge $40 +parts to fix 'em, with next to no warrantee.
Kept me busy while I looked for work. I think I had

I got the part from Rusty, $316. and $105 for installation. The local
garage doing the installation told me they could only find one in all of
US
and it was +1,000. I called Rusty and told
as ralph mentions sending back a core, it would not have been new. there
really are no new ones other than high 3 figure/low 4 figure ones from benz

how much did it generally cost parts and labor?
As I said, $40 +parts. Usually no parts required. Takes a coupla
hours.
what kind of feedback [did] you get?
They worked.
did it last for years?
So far as I know. Mine all have.
I was surprised at the general lack of interest, but
was your bill for R R of the cruise cont. amp? $300+?

Are the Programa guys any good?
FWIW, one of my customers' units had a Programa sticker on it.
IIRC, it looked like fairly sloppy work inside.
My notes:
Opened October 4 2006: 8:00 PM:
Note: Was obviously resoldered before, at least partially (pushbutton
pins). Definitely had the
any kind of mass produced assembly line work on something like this would
appear very sloppy when compared to having someone who is willing to take
the time to do it right expertly. i'd think a beckmann would look
better,.

My '87 300D is more of a pleasure to drive with the cruise control working
again.
R R the under dash cover is far from any pleasure, though. Hafta get the
cover screws/bolts by feel and mirror and then control tremor enough to get
screwdriver or wrench on 'em.
