Yeah that's what I'm hoping.  It looks like the guy she bought it from (last pic on the listing) had it for $3500, she got in over her head and the guy doesn't want to talk to her now so she wants to be rid of it.  I think you might be right, could be just a bunch of little stuff.  I'll throw

You don’t need the coolant reservoir to run the car. You could easily cap or pinch off the line to drive it a short distance without an issue. You’ll know if it’s toasted. Believe me, it’s not hard to tell. Sounds like it may just be a bunch of little niggly things that have cascaded into a

I was going to go look at this car this afternoon but we are in the midst of a nasty storm likely to continue into tomorrow.  If it lets up some I might go there The car apparently died somehow and is sitting in the street by a friend's house 3 blocks from the owner's residence, with a

More common was the warped top covers, which the Solex 4A1 also suffered from, because people would wail on the air cleaner hold down bolts. -D > On Apr 18, 2020, at 1:41 PM, Peter Frederick via Mercedes > wrote: > > Lol, I'm sure most typical wrench turners who can't set up a Quadrajet >

Lol, I'm sure most typical wrench turners who can't set up a Quadrajet properly (and yes, it can be done, a least temporarily) and NEVER going to get a pair of Zenith's set right. Biggest problem is lack of maintenance on the heat riser flaps, with the result that the base of the carbs warps

The 280 had a Solex 4 barrel. According to my friend Hans, it's pretty much impossible to make it work reliably, one of the reasons it was changed to D-Jet. D-jet has it's own peculiarities, and these days I'm not sure it's possible to find a working replacement manifold pressure sensor --

Not at all. I’ll let Jaime pile on, too. I love the Zeniths. People give them a bad rap because they won’t take the time to set them up properly. I’ve said this a ton of times - if you don’t follow the setup and adjustment procedures to the letter, they won’t work well. I am of the belief that
