That's one reason I've been leery of updating from 10.6; I'm still using
Eudora 6.2 after ten years (and have been using it in its various
incarnations since I became a Mac jockey in the 80s),,,

Eudora is still available, but it only works on machines/OS up to loseXP.
Eudora for mac works on Rosetta, so it is limited to 10.6 or older OS.
One solution is to run XP on a VM and put Eudora on that VM. If this
machine ever craps out, that is my plan to keep using Eudora.

I don't use MS Win. But from what I can tell, Outlook is one
of the biggest weaknesses.

I've been using Thunderbird since 2003, can't stand outlook. Never had
any problems.
I recommend it to my client as a replacement for Windoze Dead Mail.
If you use the calendar in Outlook install Lightning for Thunderbird.

I used Thunderbird as a replacement for Eudora when it became end of life.
Granted, I didn’t use it for long, but the short time that I did I liked it.
