My granddaddy made his own plugs from what he grew. He used lead arsenate on it
to kill the worms. It probably added some good flavor.

Today, if there is any plastic nearby, hit it with MAF cleaner, or if no plastic
Try ammonia. I think a lot of gun cleaning solvents are ammonia based.
