Yeah there was a fuel leak out of a round cover on the wing. Bad gasket or loose screws I guess. Not a huge leak, but a noticeable trickle. Based on the stains on the wing it looked like it had been ongoing for some time. Now that I think about it, it was an American MD-80, not Delta. Al

I think Singapore grounded theirs too, pending an investigation. Apparently, the engine let go with a pretty good bang! There are a few pics around of some of the damage done to the wing, snapped while in flight. All ended well though, with the plane and everyone aboard back on the ground safely.
