I had just the opposite effect. I used it on both my XP pro desktop and XP
home laptop. The desktop was starting to get real sluggish. I had an
immediate increase of speed on both but rather dramatic increase on the
desktop.

As far as I'm concerned those registry cleaners are at best a waste of time
and at worst absolutely fraudulent.
Buy a copy of Norton Ghost. Reinstall Windows, get it all working properly,
well when you do the scan for problems, it tells you want problems it
found and will fix them for you. There is also the junk file cleaner.
I have not noticed anything slowing down after running it on all my
computers.

Douglas, take a look at jv16 power tools. Free and seems to work. Some guy
at Cnet tested everything out there a few years back. Most of those he
tested would turn up the same problems after the fix was completed. Jv16
does not do that.
Kaleb, I installed and ran the ccleaner though it seemed to do something I
am not sure though when I start programs for the first time it seems to take
a bit of time for them to start. Is that normal after running one of these
cleaners?
