All the new Mercedes rotors come painted this way to prevent corrosion.
(W109 thru W221 in my recent experience) I've been using them for years as
is, never tried to remove it, I don't think its necessary. Its very thin
and comes right off after a few rotations of the wheel.

On Monday I ordered a load of parts for the SDs from Jabba, one pkg
showed up in the mail yesterday, and Fedex brought 3 boxes this
morning. It all came from Kollyfawnya for some reason, so I guess Fedex
put it on a pony to get it here.
