Managed to get the lock cylinder out of my '83 240D today (progress Loren!) but was driven out by bugs before I could get farther. Decided I'd take a look at the '78, its got different keys for the doors and the ignition. I'd like to fix that and assuming the ignition lock works the same as

Aaaand, it looks like the lock wafers are the same between the ignition and the doors, so I should be able to rekey this and get back to the 1 key solution which I like way better than having 2. Looks like this is a timely project too, the lock is pretty dirty inside. I wonder if thats really
