Well before I tackle the crankshaft seal tomorrow I thought I would try and
replace my leaking vacuum servo for the engine shut down. Has anyone
replace one on the 190 2.5 turbo engine. I found the steps in the electronic
manual, but it didn't say anything about the electrical connector that is
I went thru that when I broke the plastic vacuum connection on my
wagon's shutoff while trying to manuver the ALDA out of the way so I
could add a shim, Robert (think I let a wrench slip). :( IIRC, you
just turn the lever ccw to release, but you should probably wait for
confirmation from
and it took about 2 hours. I could probably do it again in
under 30 minutes...

I JUST did this job on my 300D, which has almost the same exact engine
you have (mine's 603.960, yours is .961). I managed to do it with the
injector lines ALDA in place, but boy it was NOT fun. Took about an hour.
I disconnected the 3-prong connector,
Unless of course your pump is positioned such that removal of the ALDA
isn't possible w/o also removing the intake. Dunno if that's even
potentially an issue w/ the 2.5. I can attest to that possibility so
far as the 603.96x is concerned.
