When did M-B switch A/C systems over to (factory-filled) R134a? I know the
change was required to happen (in the USA) by the 1996 model year, but some
makers phased it in earlier. Maybe it varied by model?

Thanks Max, useful data point. I was primarily interested in whether the
'94-'95 facelift 124s had R134, but am curious about other models as well.

I think my '92 W124 was converted to R134a, but I'd have to check carefully to

My '92 300D 2.5T has factory R134a. The '90 has R12. The '91 300E had R12.
