A few years ago a friend loaned me a Roku box, for playing various free media on our TV. It _refused_ to function until you'd registered it, using a credit card, even though we were never going to buy anything to watch. I returned it to him.
We don't have anything voice-activated in the house, likely won't, and Siri is turned off on my phone and the newer laptops that offer it.
