"Not more than a few minutes without overheating" speaks loudly of a
blown head gasket and intrusion of combustion gasses into the cooling
system... cooling system holds about 16 psi... compression gases make
140 +- at 400 F, so compression blows into coolant and makes it hot,
quickly.
