Wet noodles at twenty paces for calling me a liar!
If I try to post a picture, it will be moderated, as I'm not conversant
with the protocol needed (Whew).
I have it here in my hand. One day after surgery. So. Fie on you.
If you take all but the first line seriously, you are beyond help.

I do not, sorry. That car (1982 380SL) has been sold.
(And scrapped, I later found out.)
Many 'relays' of this era can be repaired. The culprits
are usually solder joints, by far in the lead in my experience,
and electrolytic capacitors.
Do you recall whether it was a 5 or a 9-pin relay?

Interesting that it's a 201 part, in a 126. My last 107 had a 126 part for
that.
My notes from it, in 2007:
I then pulled the overvoltage protection relay and brought it inside for
a look-see.

The '85 is different - has an over voltage protection relay PN 2015400845.
If anyone has one of these I will need to negotiate.

I had that on my 107. Turned out to be bad capacitors for the boost power
supply,
which was external in the earliest systems. In my case, it was upside down,
near
the top release handle, and
I just purchased a cabernet red '85 300SD in amazing condition to replace
the sold '83 300TD wagon. Biggest issue is the SRS light that won't go off
- this was the first Mercedes with an airbag. Also the tach doesn't work
at all.
