When I put the trailer hitch on my Volvo XC90 I wired the control box directly
to the battery (fused of course). No drain that I can tell. The battery is in
the back of the car so that was the easiest thing.

installed. There are a couple of different iterations of the replacement
depending on the type of hitch that was installed.

Yeah, it looked pretty straightforward. I’m not sure if Ill have a helper,
depends on when I decide to do the work. The BanzWhirled thread has the pinouts
for the connector in the wiring harness, so that should be easy as well. Just
wondering if I took one of my soldering irons out there -
It’s an easy job, just have to get the wire taps straight for the lights. Hitch
install is quick and straightforward, helps to have a helper but doable alone.
