I've always reused the axle nut on vw and MB.  There is always a way to crush it into the slot in a new place.   Never lost one.  Nobody (FLAPS or STEALER) ever stocks the nut.  A third or 4th use might be getting a little sketchy, but a second use, I don't fear. Meade Dillon via Mercedes
