Not sure, the boy is down here in the mtns with us, he caught a ride
with a classmate to Gboro and met up with his sister, then drove here
yesterday. Might be in the summer at some point. I do want to meet up
though.

When is your next swing thru DC RIch? I am still somewhat grouchy
that you renegged on our previously proposed get-together.

Don't forget to get the small gasket between the thermostat
housing and the head 'cause you will have to take that off to do
the job. I also heard recently that Mercedes is once again
selling that short piece of hose as a part. When I did the job
all they had was a 3 meter long piece that
- even a 30-year-old one.

That's another reason to order your parts from Rusty. He cuts
it and
Absolutely. Unfortunately I was leaving the next day on a rather
long trip and couldn't wait for that. OK so I should have done
the inspection earlier but then I had just replaced the overflow
tank that had a slight leak due to a crack the week before and
didn't think there was another leak.
I'm going to Asheville tomorrow, or somewhere up near there in the
mountains. Not driving a Benz though.

I drove my 82 300td to asheville, nc from athens, ga, yesterday. I
dragged a trailer and hauled a 1000 lb letterpress down the mountain
back to athens.
I saw temps down inth the 30's up there and the daytime highs were
nice at about 70f.

If it were me, and I had to dig down to get to that 8 cm hose, I
would consider a new thermostat and coolant flush at the same
time. And take a very close look at the other hoses.
