On two separate occassions lately, the 300TD did not start. I jumped it both
times and voila, it starts. Well, last time, I let it sit for a week before
digging into it and started it before I got to work (just to see) and it
started just fine! Hmm...

Problem - shifter bushings are loose and the neutral safety switch was not
doing it's thing. So when it didn't start this morning, I moved the shifter
lever around and it started just fine. Soultion: new shifter bushings,
obviously (they are loose)

Anyway, useful hint in case your car doesn't start someday.

  Chris

Recently I've been having issues with the ACC on my 81
300SD.

With the ignition switched on (Accessory setting) the
fan will work perfectly normal from highest to lowest
speed. With the car on the fan stops working.
Pushing the defrost button or any number of buttons
and changing fuses results makes no difference. I am
at my wits end. What else should I be looking at?
Should I be poking around the fan instead of the ACC
brains?

BTW the monovalve is working as I notice it will cycle
between heat and non heated air but with no force
coming out of the vents. Also I can hear the vacuum
pods working as I push the ACC buttons

Thanks,
Fred Johnson
