My 190E 1985 2.3 4cyl. auto. Was only in fair shape when I got it home.
The first thing was the timing chain, single row, so worn out that it
was rattling the chain tensioner. The cam gear had lost all of the
sprocket tips so badly that I expected it to skip out of time at any second.
