Play at the 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock position is usually an indication of
excessive bearing play.

Pretty much so long as it's a two ball joint design. McPherson strut
suspensions generally won't shake, you need to pry up on the bottom of the tire
and check for ball joint movement inside the boot.

If I push/pull a front wheel at 9 and 3 o'clock and there is free play that is
tie rod ends.
If I do the same at 12 and 6 o'clock that is ball joint.
Correct?
