Then your car sucks. I used to average 28 with my 90 mile round trip commute.
My 190D just nudges 40 on my now 110 mile commute.

Just think, the ONE WAY cost of fuel to drive my 22 mpg 300TD from D.C. to
NYC (225 miles) would be 225/20 gals [10.22] X $4.80/gal, or $49.05. Add
another $20 for tolls and that comes to about $70.00 (!!). The bus trip is
only $25 pp. and off-peak Amtrak is $69.00. That's a powerful

Take the Chinese bus and it will only cost you $10, or maybe $20 from there.

lizard went to florida with the kid and these 2 exchange students she is
somehow involved with. one of the students wanted to see real american
wilderness, so the lizard took them all to the ocala national forest. they
went walking in the woods. and walking. and walking. and several hours
Does she have to pay some kind of stupid hiker rescue fee?

You need a 240D or a 190D.
i am seeing 35 mpg w/ my 240D on trips (such as they are in Iowa).
45 mpg w/ my diesel VW, and that is stop and go in-town sort of driving.
