Aw come on, you know that every used benz being sold with non working AC
"only needs a recharge"...you aren't supposed to pay any attention to
those silly locked up compressors or giant gaping holes in condensers
and the like :-)

compressor idler bearing is seized you should still be able to turn the
compressor but a seized compressor is a great bargaining tool and not
that expensive to fix with a S/H one.

The blower motor going out is what quickly lead to my evaporator
giving up the ghost. I wouldn't be surprised at all if his evaporator
was leaking big time as well. I've been three summers without A/C now
just waiting for the nerve to undertake an evaporatectomy. Problem is

Don't you know the general rule with Mercs, if it has a letter before a
number it is best to be avoided.
Although I am mucho annoyed that we never got the 420 in the 124 chassis.
