I drove the car to Tacoma yesterday for the Griots All euro car gathering.
After getting up to speed on the freeway I noticed the car was running pretty
hot, but the outside temp was less than 60f. Poop! Must be the darn honey
stuff. Kept an eye on it for 30 miles then RR tire picked up somet
go a little below 1 bar at hot idle.
IIRC our 450SL had about 1/2+ bar (indicated) when hot.
It never was any problem, and we drove it for years.
I believe it was in spec. Cold idle was 3+ bar.
At any RPM it was always 3+ bar.

I just made it to 1k on the most recent oil change in Frosch. Almost down a

I believe it takes about 6 quarts. I generally buy it at WalMart in
Grand Forks ND for about $26 for 5 quarts so that is $5.20 per quart -
not counting taxes.
I get the filters in the same place for about $5 each I think.
You want the used oil, you have to come and get it.

Your "cheap insurance" keeps you in the dark and is false economy.

It gets somewhat dirty near the end and I seem to use some oil which
