Happened to my 81 also. It was the pulleys, not the damper. Some bolts snapped, some loose. take out the pulleys and you should be able to unscrew the broken off bolts. A dremel or die grinder to cut screwdriver slots may help. Buy 6 new allen head capscrews. (Rusty or an industrial
