"Rust free 300TD" is an oxymoron.

I once had three 300td wagons lined up in front of the house. And a 280 SE
3.5 Coupe in the garage in the back. And the gf had a smart car and a 300cd
turbo diesel. From there it was all downhill.

Shoot some Fluid Film on it from the backside, maybe that'll help prevent some
rust. I've found Fluid Film (or Wool Wax which is pretty much the same stuff)
to be pretty handy to have around. It does smell like sheep for a couple days
but thats a pretty small price to pay I think.

Not you. You probably have $40-50k in cars that you've bought just sitting in
the back forty.

To be honest, the fit is not terrible, better than the one on my w123. The
biggest issue I have with these grilles is that they rust. This car will be
driven in the winter so it could be a problem, whereas the w123 never sees salt
so much less of an issue.

I must confess that I bought one of their W124 grilles in an effort to be
frugal a few years ago when I had the 93 400E. It never made it on the car, I
tossed it. The badge opening was not punched out properly as yours, and the
