I finally had a chance to swap OVP relays between the two 300Ds, but
discovered that the newer one, in the car with the problem, came apart as I
was removing it. First the plastic top with the fuses came of, then the
aluminum can. I ended up pulling the bare relay assembly out of the socket.

I got this neutral safety switch recently from Rusty for my '84 300D
and I don't see anything underneath that looks like this on/near the
driver's side of the transmission. Can someone help here? TIA.
