Really depends on just what you intend it for. If you want to haul a lot of weight get a Ford or Dodge 3/4 or one ton. They do that best. If you want someting that will haul household items, ride nice and get decent mpg then look at a Chevy 1/2 ton with either the 4.3 or 350 if you want more

So unbolting the '83 exhaust at the flange worked well, the 2 bolts broke nicely and it all came out. However I still couldn't get the front pipe detached from the rest and I ended up cutting the first couple inches of the front exhaust pipe. A quick trip to FLAPS got me a 2 exhaust pipe

partial to Diesels, but have been scared off by all the injector pump issues with the US made engines - why didn't they use nice in-line Bosch pumps? 96-98.5 Dodge then, it uses the P7100 inline pump. My 1975 Dodge 1/2 ton was quite reliable. Would always start no matter how long it had sat.

Its too late for this advice, but in the past I was able to break and exhaust system free from the manifold by dropping it down off of all the rubber hangers and swinging it side to side a bit from the end at the back of the car. The torque on that length of pipe is huge. Just don't go too

Thanks, good to know. I used my #14 head as a stand to hold the camshaft from the #17, cleaned off the corrosion using PB Blaster and a brass brush. It cleaned up nicely, so I'll use it when I install the #17 head. I'll keep all the lifters from the #14 head (and the camshaft) just in case.

So it seems this is one that could have the rust issues... what I read about this is that you can't really tell if there is a rust problem without scraping off the body panel sealant that's used over the welds. Is the problem common enough to warrant doing that? There are actually two W210s here
