My first Benz, '83 SD had constant heat symptoms that a new insert didn't fix. After a rebuild of the push button unit (with a blown trace repair and complete resolder) the problem persisted. I ended up replacing the coil of the monovalve body with a used unit from Kaleb and that fixed the
