Diff oil isn't thin and it smells really bad of sulfur, it should be easily
identifiable. I assume you'd have said if it was black engine oil. ATF is red,
your power steering fluid might be too. SLS is, I think, mostly colorless.
You did check the color of the fluid didn't you?

with the hydraulic oil. This would be evident in the reservoir as well.
