Another article linked on that page is interesting, too:
Oldest son’s 1998 S420 needed a right front caliper, as one of the pistons had
stuck in it.
Replaced the caliper and did brakes across the front axle with oldest son doing
the work while I supervised (and assisted as necessary.) Took all of maybe 45
minutes. This is the second time he’s done

The little shock absorber was rarely bad from what I recall, not to mention
that it was pricey, too.
In my oft-occurring nit-pickyness I replaced it once and found no difference in
the way the car felt afterwards.

If you want to go solar...I just did a solar install on the motor home. I
put 2 100W panels on the roof, an MPPT controller (so I could wire the
panels in series and have the wiring handle the higher voltage more
efficiently) and 2 Group 27 deep cycle batteries wired in parallel. The
system works

The stability and maneuverability of these things requires that they be
controllable rapidly, which can be done with an electric motor. It would
be interesting to see an analysis of putting a motor/generator on the
thing, with some batteries for load balancing (is that the right term?),
sorta
Great comments, thanks all. I forgot about the little shock absorber
thingie(s), I should get that too.

Zero auto rotation capacity with that design.. you likely notice his panic

Propeller blade tip turbulence losses on that design have to account for
gigantic energy loss. The inclusion of a simple duct around each propeller

Yes, computer control is what makes these things
Interesting explanation.

Scrap metal prices have always been a indicator of world economic
health. Low scrap prices = depression on the way. High scrap prices
= boom coming.
