Failure to change the coolant (and to use the correct stuff) will
result in premature radiator failure (often holing) and can even ruin
the head on cast iron block engines. Probably less trouble on aluminum
block engines, but still, why risk a very expensive engine for $25
worth of coolant?

'88 GMC Jimmy S15 2.8l if the thermostat plugs the coolant can vent through the
overflow bottle... Not pretty.
My '81 300TD came to me with that stuff in it, plugged 2 thermostats before I
got it all flushed out.
Unless the taxation changes or people change their driving habits. I think that
we will see a gentle improvement in fleet economy as the gigunda SUVs fall from

tools would disappear in a minute or so if I set them down. I managed to
change the sprockets and chain and find most of the sockets etc.

It is a big home made unit that my father built in the late 70's ( I
think ). Dad died in '83 so it was prior to that. It consists of a big
hydraulic cylinder mounted on an I-beam etc. The hydraulic pump is powered
by an 8HP BS via a sprocket and chain setup. No safety features on this one
either
